In Washington D.C, a group of approximately 50 Malaysian nationals,<br />marched for a kilometre to the Malaysian Embassy to hand over a<br />memorandum echoing the 8 demands of Bersih 2.0 towards call free and<br />fair elections.<br /><br />According to event organiser, John Lee the primary aim of the event<br />was to create awareness of the objectives of Bersih 2.0 and the<br />situation in Malaysia among those residing in the United States.<br /><br />Arriving from various parts of the United States, they group armed<br />with colourful placards and a cheerful demeanour, attracted honks from<br />ongoing cars as a sign of support. The D.C Metro Police provided the<br />group with police escort as the group had earlier applied and been<br />provided with a permit for their march.<br /><br />Once arriving at the embassy, the group gathered and sang the<br />Malaysian national anthem "NegaraKu" in front of the Malaysian<br />embassy. The group later posted the memorandum containing the 8<br />demands and signatures by all attendees.
