Several animals rescued from Mexican circuses were taken to a wildlife refuge in Denver, Colorado, the oldest and largest non-profit sanctuary in the country. Although Mexico passed a law last January making it illegal to use animals in circuses, some owners have not complied. Two male and six female lions, a puma, a bobcat and a coyote were found emaciated and in poor health. The Denver sanctuary is exclusively dedicated to the rescue of large, exotic endangered carnivores from captivity. teleSUR
