Dramatic footage has emerged showing wild horses interrupting visitors relaxing on a Maryland beach.

The video, captured in June, shows the creatures causing chaos amid peaceful scenes in the Assateague State Park.

The filmer later wrote online: "they suddenly appeared in a group of about 10 horses and started walking between the umbrellas, eating everything they found and breaking many of people's personal belongings since they passed over them.

"Since they are part of the natural environment, people are not allowed to touch them and they can only wait for the animals to voluntarily leave the place."
