The government has approved an increase in allowances for the Parliament speaker, senate president and their deputies. <br /> <br />It has been 29 years since the last hike and will take effect from May 1 this year, according to a statute paper issued to MPs today. <br /> <br />Notable increases include the speaker's and senate president's entertainment allowance, up from RM7,000 to RM9,860. <br /> <br />Full story here.
