FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke, has been suspended. <br /><br /> In a statement, soccer’s world governing body said it had “been made aware of a series of allegations involving the secretary general.” <br /><br /> The 54-year-old has been put on leave and released from his duties until further notice.<br /><br /> The move comes after a former footballer alleged the Frenchman may have been involved in selling World Cup tickets for a lucrative profit.<br /><br /> In a statement Valcke’s US lawyer “unequivocally denied the allegations as “fabricated and outrageous”. <br /><br /> FIFA President Sepp Blatter announced he would stand down just days after winning re-election in June. The move came after Swiss police raided a hotel in Zurich and arrested seven of its top executives which rocked the organisation and the sport.<br /><br /> US officials have since indicted the seven and two other FIFA officials on bribery and racketeering charges. Valcke now faces an investigation by the FIFA ethics committee.
