A Qatari hotel group is to buy the famous Westin Excelsior hotel in Rome for 222 million euros.<br /><br /> The Excelsior opened its doors 1906 and became synonymous with Italian style and opulence in the 1960s and most of all Federico Fellini’s landmark film La Dolce Vita.<br /><br /> Various Italian media have described the hotel as a piece of national history which is being given away to wealthy foreign interests.
