The latest developments in ongoing tensions between Palestinians and Israelis following days of violence in Jerusalem and the West Bank .<br />Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says the Palestinians will not be "dragged" into more violence with Israel, even as a Palestinian attacker stabbed a Jewish seminary student in Jerusalem.<br />Abbas spoke to business leaders on Thursday in the West Bank city of Ramallah.<br />He says he is committed to "peaceful popular resistance" though he backs protesters who recently barricaded themselves inside Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque and clashed with Israeli police.<br />Abbas insisted the Palestinians are not interested in a further escalation.<br />Still, he says their "hands are with those who are protecting Al-Aqsa mosque."
