Jennifer Lawrence might be the world's highest paid actress of 2015, but that doesn't mean she always gets paid as much as her male counterparts.
The actress wrote an essay for Lena Dunham's online newsletter called "Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co‑Stars?"
Lawrence said that she found out she made less than her male coworkers when the Sony hack happened -- and she said she only blamed herself.
"When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with d***s, I didn't get mad at Sony," she wrote.
"I got mad at myself.
I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early.
I didn't want to keep fighting over millions of dollars that, frankly, due to two franchises, I don't need."
Lawrence said that her failure to negotiate stemmed from a desire to be likable.
"I didn't want to seem 'difficult' or 'spoiled,'" she wrote.
"At the time, that seemed like a fine idea, until I saw the payroll on the Internet and realized every man I was working with definitely didn't worry about being 'difficult' or 'spoiled.'"
