Trader R. Balakrishnan, 65, said he was supposed to open for business at the bazaar on October 12 but had yet to do so because of the thugs’ prohibition.

“Saminathan’s group has run the bazaar for years. He only allows his friends to operate there. Now that MBPJ has stepped in, he doesn’t like it,” he said.

Balakrishnan claimed that he was never able to open a stall there in the past because of Saminathan.

“This year, I saw in the newspapers and banners that we can apply to MBPJ, and I did, but now they are trying to stop us from operating,” he said.
