Netflix plans to revive “Gilmore Girls,” the popular TV series that aired on the WB from 2000 to 2007.<br />the limited revival will consist of four 90-minute mini-movies, rather the series of shorter episodes broadcast during each season years ago, media reports said.<br />Netflix already offers the original series in its lineup.<br />the “Gilmore Girls” comeback marks another instance of streaming-video giant Netflix along with rivals such as Amazon.comand Yahoo pushing into what used to be exclusively the TV and movie industry’s territory.<br />“Although negotiations with the cast are only now beginning, I’m told all of the major players — most notably Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson — are expected back for the continuation,” TVLine’s Michael Ausiello reported.<br />One who isn’t likely to return is Melissa McCarthy, whose career has taken off since the show was cancelled, according to Hollywood Reporter.
