Fresh from the academy, Wisconsin State Trooper Trevor Casper was on his first day alone in a squad car in March 2015 when he got into a shootout with a bank robbery suspect. In the exchange of fire, both the suspect and Casper were mortally wounded. Casper is the youngest Wisconsin law enforcement officer to die in the line of duty.
