Komisioni Qendror i Zgjedhjeve reagoi për here te pare pas dorëzimit te firmave për referendum, te Aleancës Kundër Importit te Plehrave. Aktiviste te aleancës këmbëngulin se është shkelur afati 3 mujor, qe KQZ kishte ne dispozicion te verifikonte dokumentacionin dhe merrte vendim nëse do te mbahet referendum ose jo, por zyrtarisht Komisioni i Zgjedhjeve tha se janë brenda afateve. Një përfaqësi e aleancës takoi ne mesdite avokatin e Popullit, për te shprehur shqetësimin se kërkesa e tyre po zvarritet. Lavdosh Feruni tha se edhe interpretimi i KQZ është i gabuar. Një ditë më parë ambasadori amerikan Alexander Arvizu, teksa shpalli nismën qytetare 'Vepro tani' akuzoi KQZ se me qëndrimin për kërkesën për referendum për importin e plehrave, minoi besimin e publikut. Një grupim shoqëror inicioi ne muajt e pare te vitit, nismën për rrëzimin e ligjit qe lejon importin e mbetjeve urbane ne Shqipëri.
