Clashes erupted in Bogota after Colombia’s customs police seized illegal contraband from workers in the San Andresito commercial district. Fiscal and Customs Police staged an eight-hour operation during which they seized contraband from shops in the San Jose shopping center in San Andresito. Police unleashed water cannons and tear gas on enraged workers trying to resist the operation which saw hordes of alcohol, clothing, and luxury goods confiscated by police.
