Turkey had been warning Russia of refraining from violating its airspace but the persistent Russian did not pay heed. On November 24, 2015 two Russian SU-24s continued to play hide and seek while Turkish Interceptors tried to warn them. Their warnings went unheeded so they shot down one of the intruding Russian aircraft. <br />Putin's reaction was very violent and Russo-Turk relations took a nose dive. The tension increased as Russia positioned a Naval Cruiser with air defence systems.
