He had gone nine games without a goal, so Saturday morning, Joe Whitney decided he was going to shoot more.<br />His five shots produced three goals Saturday night in a 5-2 Bridgeport Sound Tigers win over the Hartford Wolf Pack at Webster Bank Arena .<br />Whitney took three shots in the second period, and one went in, walking the puck to the high slot on the power play and firing a wrister over Mackenzie Skapski's blocker.<br />He took two more shots in the third, and both went in, one left all alone in front on a quick transition play, one through traffic from the top of the slot just as a power play expired with 1:08 left in the game.<br />After Wednesday's loss in Albany against Whitney's former team, the Devils, coach Brent Thompson wanted the Sound Tigers to trust their shots.<br />Whitney's first gave the Sound Tigers a 2-1 lead, after Hartford's Luke Adam and Bridgeport's James Wright traded first-period goals 15 seconds apart.
