We aren’t sure if the bald eagle was actually saying ‘cheese’ for this ultimate selfie, but we’re pretty certain it was relieved to have been found.

Brothers Michael and Neil Fletcher found the bird of prey with a talon caught in a claw trap near Windy Lake, Ontario.

So, after realising it was stuck but hadn’t been injured, they did the humane thing and freed the beautiful bird.

Here they are struggling to free the bald eagle.

Michael told the Sudbury Star: ‘It was attached to a stake and the eagle was trying to fly up, but it only had a foot of slack in the chain.

‘It didn’t really fuss or give any sign of aggression. I don’t know if it knew we were helping him, or what, Michael said.

‘I was surprised by the size, and that it’s such a beautiful bird. When you see the eyes up close, they’re really amazing.’
