An actor who starred in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" has pleaded guilty to criminal mischief after he was accused of choking his girlfriend in an upstate New York hotel room.<br />The Albany Times Union reports that Nicholas Brendon pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge Friday in Saratoga Springs.<br />Police said the 44-year-old Brendon grabbed his girlfriend by the throat, took her keys and tossed her cellphone during a Sept. 30 fight.<br />Prosecutors say he will not serve jail time in the latest case if he completes drug and alcohol counseling and stays out of trouble for one year.<br />Defense attorney Peter Coseo tells the newspaper his client is working to "get his life back together."<br />Brendon played Xander on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."<br />He also has appeared on "Criminal Minds."
