A new report shows that Haiti, Burma and Honduras are the world’s most vulnerable countries to the consequences of climate change. In 2015, more than two million campesinos in Honduras as well as many city dwellers were affected by climate change even though the country is not a major contributor to global warming. Analysts blame the exploitation of the country’s land and resources that began in colonial times and continues in the present. Mining and banana field concessions, for example, continue to be given to international corporations that cause untold environmental damage. Gerardo Torres reports from Central America for teleSUR.
