Star Wars: The Force Awakens grows more powerful as its opening weekend continues to blast through box office records.<br />Walt Disney Studios and Rentrak tracking service now estimate that Friday's opening day numbers will reach the $120 - $125 million range.<br />Studio estimates previously had this number at $100 million - already a record for an opening day - beating Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 in 2011 which made $91.1 million.<br />This updated $120 - $125 million number includes a $57 million total for Thursday "preview" shows, which is also a record for Thursday previews.<br />New studio estimates and Rentrak further estimate that the J.J. Abrams-directed Force Awakens will destroy the weekend box office record with at least a $225 million weekend total.
