Winter weather is not stopping some migrants from trying to get to Europe.<br /><br /> At least 18 have drowned after a boat headed for Greece sank off the Turkish coast. More than a dozen other people were rescued. <br /><br /> Fishermen had heard screaming and alerted the Turkish coast guard. <br /><br /> The wooden boat was reportedly carrying migrants from Iraq, Pakistan and Syria to the island of Kalymnos. <br /><br /> It had set off from the Aegean resort of Bodrum in Turkey’s southwest. <br /><br /> Two people, suspected of organising the journey, are said to have been detained. <br /><br /> Around 800-thousand migrants and refugees have reached Greece from Turkey so far this year. <br /><br /> Nearly 600 people have died on the so-called eastern Mediterranean sea route.
