Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the U.K.'s opposition Labour Party, finally concluded a reshuffle of his shadow cabinet late Tuesday night after more than 30 hours of negotiations.
The Labour leader was forced to abandon plans to replace Hilary Benn, the shadow foreign secretary, who defied Corbyn by voting in favor of Syrian airstrikes in December.
Shadow Europe minister, Pat McFadden, was replaced for what Labour sources told the Guardian were displays of "incompetence and disloyalty."
The Labour leader also dropped shadow defense secretary Maria Eagle, who disagrees with him on the future of the U.K.'s nuclear weapons, and replaced her with Emily Thornberry.
Jonathan Reynolds, the shadow rail minister, announced on Facebook Wednesday morning that he had resigned in response to the reshuffle.
By lunchtime Reynolds was joined by Stephen Doughty, shadow foreign office minister, and Kevan Jones, shadow minister for the Armed Forces.
