Trikonasana is a yoga pose that provides children with the best form of maintaining good health. This gives them a chance to get their nerves and muscles flexible. It is usually done with the eyes open so that there is body balance.<br /><br />Meaning : <br /><br />Trikon means triangle and asana means posture so Trikonasana means a triangular posture.<br /><br />Technique :<br /><br /> Stand straight and keep the feet separate.<br /> Now turn the right leg outwards for around ninety degrees and the left foot by around fifteen degrees.<br /> Keep the center of the left foot arch and the center of the right heel aligned together.<br /> Press the feet on the ground and ensure that the body weight is balanced on both the legs.<br /> Breathe in deeply and breathe out bending the body to the right and below the waist.<br /> Now allow your left hand to go up while keeping the waist straight.<br /> The right hand comes downwards on the floor.<br /> Now keep the right hand on the ankle and stretch the left arm upwards and make sure your head is in a neutral position.<br /> The body should be bent sideways and do not lean forward or backward.<br /> Keep the pelvic region and the chest wide apart and stretch maximum.<br /> Now breathe out and relax more and breathe in and bring your arms to the sides.<br /> Now straighten the feet and then repeat the exercise on the other side.<br /><br />Benefits :<br /><br /> This asana helps to keep the ankles, legs, chest, and knees strong.<br /> It also aids in stretching and opening the groins, hips, calves and the hamstrings.<br /> This helps to maintain a balance between physical and mental stability.<br /> It aids in digestion and also brings down stress, anxiety, sciatica, and back pain.<br /><br />Care and Caution :<br /><br />You should not do this asana if you suffer from diarrhea, migraine, low or high blood pressure and you should ensure you do not perform this asana.
