"Making a Murderer" fans are taking their complaints all the way to the top.<br />The good news is that the White House responded to a petition to pardon Steven Avery and his cousin, Brendan Dassey, for their accused involvement in the murder of Teresa Halbach.<br />The petition was published Dec. 20, 2015, just two days after the show's Netflix premiere.<br />The White House response went on to say what power the President does hold, and that it doesn't include pardoning a state criminal offense.<br />While this one is a dud for "Making a Murderer" fans, the White House pointed out the President Obama has issued 66 pardons during his time in office.
