Big wave surfers in Hawaii ignored weather warnings this weekend to take on the monster waves crashing on O'ahu's North Shore.<br /><br />The most popular break for the daredevil big wave surfers was Waimea Bay.<br /><br />Huge waves, some believed to be as high as 12 meters (40 feet), have been spotted off the coast of the North Pacific Ocean islands in recent days.<br /><br />The National Weather Service issued a high surf warning for the north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Molokai.
