It was a difficult week for pop culture fans as two distinct personalities who entertained them for decades David Bowie and Alan Rickman both passed away without any public forewarning.<br />Both men had come up in the same British arts scene; both died of cancer at the age of 69.<br />Now, in a truth-is-stranger-than-fiction coincidence, the town of Springfield is showing that it mourns alongside England, the U.S. and the rest of the world.<br />As is turns out, three years ago the program aired a clip from a spoof movie — which just happened to reference both of the recently-departed stars.<br />As a tribute, FOX has unearthed the clip, and watching it is just one more reminder of the profound influence Bowie and Rickman had on everyone’s entertainment lives.
