The Bruins entered last night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings with a 7-2-1 record in their previous 10 outings and in third place in the Atlantic Division.<br />But a quick look at their opponents in the 10-game segment would reveal that they had played just one team which currently owns a playoff position, the Anaheim Ducks, who spanked the B’s at the Garden.<br />Well, the Bruins played a playoff team again last night at the Garden, and the Kings dumped a cold bucket of reality on their heads.<br />The B’s were pounded by the Pacific Division-leading Kings, 9-2, in their worst loss of the season.<br />The goal total for Los Angeles, one of the favorites to represent the Western Conference in the Stanley Cup finals, established a new high in the NHL this season.<br />The Kings scored two goals in the final 1:39 of the first period to overcome an early one-goal deficit, four in the second period and three in the third.
