TRONDHEIM, NORWAY — The U.S. military is stockpiling tanks and artillery in a series of Cold War-era caves in central Norway, in response to renewed tension between NATO and Russia. <br /> <br />The caves are situated in the Trondheim region of central Norway. <br /> <br />The U.S. has a total of six caves and two airfields, or more than 700,000 square feet of facilities in Norway, the Washington Post reported. <br /> <br />Under an expanded agreement, the caves — which were mothballed following the end of the Cold War — will now play host to M1 Abrams battle tanks, amphibious assault vehicles and Humvee gun trucks.
