New Delhi, Feb 23 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday called for debates instead of disruptions as he opened the Budget Session of the Parliament during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Government will present Railway and general budgets and seek passage of crucial bills. The government has held a series of meetings with opposition parties to seek their cooperation for smooth functioning of parliament and passage of key bills, including the revamp of goods and services tax (GST) bill. The last two sessions had proved unproductive after the opposition parties led by the Congress disrupted parliamentary proceedings on several issues. Mukherjee rooted for collective endeavour to build a flourishing and prosperous India.
