Heartwarming footage of a 13-month-old boy who had a tracheostomy hearing his voice for the first time. <br /><br />The video, filmed in Texas, USA last year, shows John Miller appearing to be very happy at hearing his own voice. <br /><br />The filmer later wrote online: "John Miller had worn his trach since he was around six months old after it was placed by surgeons. <br /><br />"Since then he had been silent." <br /><br />"On this evening, his speech therapist had given his family what is known as a 'speaking valve' which would allow air to exit through his vocal cords," he continued. <br /><br />"You can see his happy expression after hearing his own voice for the first time in six months. <br /><br />"Pictured in the video is his mother, Jacqueline Miller, his grandmother and nurse Patricia Holder. <br /><br />"His father, Thomas Miller, was holding the camera."<br /><br />John was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Catel-Manzke syndrome, which affects the skeletal and muscle structure. <br /><br />According to his father, he is the first US patient diagnosed with the syndrome.
