This is the opening to the Americanized version of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (1972) . It was named Battle of the Planets (1978) to ride on the success of Star Wars.\r<br>\r<br>I have not seen this version of the show. Ive only seen the version G-Force: Guardians of Space (1986) that aired on Cartoon Network back from 1995-1997. I do like BotPs names more than G-Forces. They sound not so cheesy.\r<br>\r<br>The theme was composed by Hoyt Curtin. He worked on classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons like The Flintstones, Jonny Quest, all the various Superfriends and Scooby-Doo shows from the 60s to the 80s. A really talented man.\r<br>\r<br>You can buy a much cleaner sounding version of this theme off Amazon for 99 cents, as well as the rest of the soundtrack.\r<br>\r<br>\r<br>If you want this free version, go to beemp3.com\r<br>\r<br>\r<br>BotP was released on DVD by Rhino Home Video back in 2003 and has gone out-of-print. Supposedly, the rights have expired and future releases of this version of the show wont be likely. ADV Films released the unedited Japanese version in 2006. I believe that is out-of-print as well.
