Tamil star Karthi was never keen to be a part of multi-starrers, unless the film had an extremely amazing story. "I have always maintained that I do not want to do multi-starrers. I was determined not to do one, unless a film like, say, Sivaputrudu came along, where there were two lead characters in the film. And Oopiri was one such story for me.
