Some 15,000 soldiers from 14 countries are taking part in Cold Response 2016, a Norwegian-led international military exercise in the challenging cold-weather environment of Trondelag in Central Norway. <br /> <br />Cold Response, which is the Norwegian Armed Forces' main winter exercise, started on February 19 but the main exercise phase is March 2-9. <br /> <br />The exercise aims to give military personnel the experience of combat situations in cold weather and features land, sea and air exercises. <br /> <br />This year military personnel from Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the United States, the United Kingdom and Norway are taking part. <br /> <br />There are also several units participating from NATO.
