Nearly 100 cars were involved in several crashes on Interstate-40 in North Carolina on Sunday (March 13), injuring 20 people, NBC reported. <br /> <br />The crashes happened over a 6-mile (10 kilometer) stretch of the highway, starting at about 6 p.m., local time (2200 GMT), snarling traffic on both sides of the roadway for hours into the night. <br /> <br />NBC reported that the Alamance County Sheriff's Office counted nine separate crashes along the interstate, possibly caused by wet road conditions. <br /> <br />None of the injuries is thought to be life-threatening, according to NBC.
