Lucknow, Mar 21 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav felicitated various artists at the Yash Bharti Awards Ceremony in Lucknow on Monday. The award is given to eminent persons belonging to the state in the fields of art, culture, sports, literature, medicine, journalism and social service. The Yash Bharti award was instituted by Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav during his tenure as Chief Minister in 1994. The awards were discontinued when Mayawati assumed power. After the Samajwadi Party came to power in 2013, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav revived the award with a hike in the prize money from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 11 lakh
