MONTREAL —Self love is about to get a whole lot more stimulating after the world’s biggest porn site launched a free virtual reality channel for X-rated material. <br /> <br />Pornhub unveiled the channel this week in partnership with BaDoink, which specialises in producing virtual reality adult content, Mashable reported. <br /> <br />And to give the channel a helping hand, Pornhub is giving away 10,000 pairs of virtual reality goggles. <br /> <br />The channel will offer a “mesmeric experience unlike anything seen before,” Pornhub’s vice-president Corey Price said in a statement published by the Daily Mail. <br /> <br />All that’s needed to discover your own potential in this 360-degree world of filth is an Internet connection and a VR headset — the channel even supports Google Cardboard. <br /> <br />Pornhub’s VR content doesn’t require a subscription, but you’ll have to sign up for a membership to see it in maximum resolution. <br /> <br />“After decades of kicks and starts, virtual reality is finally hitting its stride,” BaDoink CEO Todd Glider said, according to the Daily Mail. <br /> <br />“McDonalds Happy Meal boxes are doubling as Google Cardboard; now Pornhub is tossing its hat in the ring.” <br /> <br />So could this be the game-changer that shoots VR headsets to the top of everybody’s shopping wishlist? And what might be the implications for human relationships when virtual sex is available anytime, anyplace, anywhere? <br /> <br />With VR poised to take off in a big way, it was only a matter of time before porn shifted into gear and embraced the technology. <br /> <br />Just how much of an impact VR will have on our lives remains to be seen.
