A suspected gunman – known to police – has been wounded in a shooting in the grounds of the US Capitol building in Washington. <br /><br /> It happened in the Visitor Centre, an underground complex used mainly by tourists, according to sources.<br /><br /> Police are understood to have opened fire on the man, who has not been identified.
