The first Syrian family to resettle in the U.S. arrived in Missouri on Wednesday, marking the first family to migrate to the states under a speeded-up "surge operation."<br />Ahmad al-Abboud, his wife and five children, left Jordan this week after living in the country for three years because of the violence in his native Syria.<br />The 45-year-old struggled to find work in Jordan and was living off food coupons.<br />Al-Abboud wants to learn English and find a job to support his family.<br />However, his family isn't the only one seeking a better life.<br />Since October, 1,000 Syrian refugees have moved to the U.S. from Jordan.
