"My Ding A Ling" - a cute kids' song - was released in the 60s/70s by the great Chuck Berry! It became an instant hit - amongst the younger generation, that is - and was sung and played all around the world. But the grown ups? Hmmm... well, that was a different story. A percentage of the population in the US and the UK considered it 'obscene', and many stations subsequently refused to play it. In the UK, the infamous, British killjoy, Mrs Mary Whitehouse - and her band of 'po faced' puritanicals - went to court and tried to get the record banned from the country! They failed! Tehehe...
Thankfully, "Ding a Ling" survived, and the great Chuck Berry (now 89 and still going strong!) is singing to this day!
Happy (if somewhat saucy!) listening...
