Seven people have been detained by police in India following a devastating fire that killed 116 people in a temple located in the village of Paravoor.<br />The group surrendered to law enforcement late Monday after a two-day search.<br />Police are questioning the seven people involved in what was initially an evening of fun as party attendees celebrated the Hindu new year from Saturday night into Sunday.<br />Fireworks are typically used at such festivals in in southern India.<br />On Tuesday, a court banned the use of nighttime pyrotechnic displays at all places of worship in Kerala state.<br />Police are still looking for eight other temple board members and associates of firework contractors
