<p>A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck southern Japan on Thursday, April 14. The earthquake struck the Kumamoto prefecture and surrounding areas around 9.26pm, and there were widespread reports</a> of damages elsewhere as well.</p><br /><p>This video, shot by Noel Vincent, an American who lives in Kumamoto, was recorded in a public park in downtown Kumamoto shortly after the earthquake.</p><p>Vincent has a longer video on Periscope</a> in which he walked through parts of the city following the earthquake and experienced aftershocks.
