Residents in Turkey's main Kurdish-majority city of Diyarbakir are angry following a government decision to expropriate homes in the historic Sur quarter where security forces have been battling Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels since a truce broke down last summer. The government is planning to reconstruct the area and move residents into social housing.
