Maritime India Summit 2016 <br />On 14 April 2016 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Maritime India Summit 2016 (MIS 2016). The two-day summit was held in Mumbai. <br />Maritime India Summit 2016 is an initiative of the Ministry of Shipping & Government of India. <br />By this, the PM invited investors to come to India. <br />The Summit showcased investment opportunities in; <br />• Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Ship Recycling <br />• Port Modernization and New Port Development <br />• Port-based Industrial Development, Port-based Smart Cities and Maritime Cluster Development <br />• Hinterland Connectivity Projects and Multi-Modal Logistics Hubs <br />• Inland Waterways and Coastal Shipping for Cargo and Passenger movement <br />• Dredging <br />• Lighthouse Tourism and Cruise Shipping <br />• Renewable Energy Projects in Ports <br />• Other Maritime Sector related services (Financing, Legal, Design etc.) <br /> <br />Union Government reconstituted IGNCA Trust <br />Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) is a government-funded arts organization in India, and an autonomous institution under the Union Ministry of Culture. <br />On 14 April 2016 the Government of India reconstituted the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) Trust with immediate effect. <br />Senior Journalist Ram Bahadur Rai was selected as President of IGNCA. <br /> <br />Pepsi-Cola sign got landmark status in New York <br />On 13 April 2016 Iconic Pepsi-Cola sign on the banks of East River of New York was declared as a historic landmark. The sign got its status after 25 years of discussion. <br />The sign of Pepsi-Cola is 60 feet high and 120 feet long. <br /> <br />Susmita Pande appointed as chairperson of National Monument Authority <br />National Monuments Authority (NMA) is organised under Union Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Its headquaters are in New Delhi. <br />NMA is responsible for the protection and preservation of monuments and sites. <br />On 14 April 2016 Union Government appointed Susmita Pande as the new chairperson of the National Monument Authority (NMA). <br />She was a professor at Ujjain's Vikram University at the time of appointment. <br /> <br /> <br />Commercializing NEMHARI <br />NEMHARI is a plant based Formulation for Management of Mulberry Root Knot Disease. <br />It is a plant that was developed at Central Sericulture Research and Training Institute (CSR&TI), Central Silk Board (CSB), Mysuru. <br />On 12 April 2016 National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) signed agreement with M/s Rainbow Agrilife India Private Limited. <br />The agreement has been signed for the purpose of commercializing the plant. <br />The initiative of NRDC promotes the “Make in India” Mission of the Government of India.
