Bernie Sanders’ campaign is running low on cash going into the closing stretch of the Democratic presidential primaries.<br />He finished April with $5.8 million on hand, after raising $26.9 million last month but spending $38.6 million as he continues to battle.<br />In total, Sanders has spent nearly $207 million this election cycle, averaging $40 million in spending a month.<br />Rival Hillary Clinton has spent $183 million and averaged $26 million in spending per month since January.<br />Sanders has seen his fundraising slow as the July 25 Democratic National Convention hovers.<br />The candidate has promised to stand strong until the end of the primaries on June 14.
