Aerial video taken by the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) on Wednesday (May 25) showed two new lava flows at the Kilauea volcano on Hawaii's Big Island. <br /> <br />According to the observatory, the two breakouts began on Tuesday (May 24) and were still active on Wednesday. <br /> <br />On Wednesday morning, the active portions of both flows extended 1 km (0.6 miles) from their breakout points. The video shows the northern breakout, which flowed towards the northwest. <br /> <br />The second flow from the eastern breakout was about 1.2 km (0.75 mi) long on Wednesday, the HVO said.
