More than 45 million people around the world are trapped in modern slavery - a third more than previously thought, a major new report has found.<br />They are being trafficked and forced to work as prostitutes, domestic servants or enslaved in debt bondage and compelled to toil away in factories and farms, according to the study.<br />The 2016 Global Slavery Index found there to be many more "modern slaves" than previously recognized, with nearly two-thirds of the global total in Asia.<br />Modern slavery was found in all 167 countries in the index.
