This pseudonym was used for dozens of bands, but in this case it refers to Billy James' Orchestra. Although he was a talented songwriter who composed quite a few tunes and recorded a significant number of good dance band sides for dime store labels, unfortunately hardly anything is known about him today. On this excellent 1928 side, we hear a vocal refrain by Jerry White.
