"Si aujourd'hui" 2007 <br /><br />Maurane, de son vrai nom Claudine Luypaerts, est une chanteuse belge, née à Ixelles (Bruxelles) le 12 novembre 1960. <br />Elle vit actuellement et depuis toujours dans la commune de Schaerbeek, la même commune qui a vu naître le chanteur Jacques Brel. <br /><br />Le 25 mars 2007, l’Europe fêtait le cinquantième anniversaire de la signature du Traité de Rome et, dans la foulée, les 50 ans de la présence européenne à Bruxelles. <br /><br />Maurane, real name Claudine Luypaerts, (Elsene, November 12, 1960) is a Belgian singer. She lives currently in Schaerbeek, the municipality where Jacques Brel was born. <br />Her father was director in the Académie de Musique de Verviers, and when she was a teenager she took part in several musical contests. In 1979, she participated in the show, « Brel en mille temps », with Philippe Lafontaine, she was discovered there by the French songwriter, Pierre Barouh. <br />She later got small contracts singing backing vocals in cafés for Jo Lemaire and Philippe Lafontaine until she released her first album in 1986. <br />She has a daughter named Lou with the singer Pablo Villafranca. <br /><br />On march the 25th 2007, Europe celebrated the 50 th anniversary of the Traity of Rome and to follow, the 50 years of european presence in Brussels.
