Mylène Farmer (September 12, 1961), born Mylène Jeanne Gautier, is a Canadian-born French singer and songwriter. She has sold 25 million records and is among the most successful recording artists of all time in France. Mylène Gautier was born in Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada, a suburb (now borough) of Montreal. Her parents, originally from France, moved to Canada in the late 1950s as Farmer's dad, Max, pursued an engineering contract on a dam.
