3 MRT and 3 BRT routes were recommended for Dhaka city. In line with this recommendation, with the financing of Japan International Co-operation Agency and management of Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority, a 20.1 km long metrorail will be built. This will be known as MRT line-6 and it will be the fastest and the most advanced mass transport system in Bangladesh.
