The head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) criticized Donald Trump for saying the U.S. should set conditions for helping NATO allies.<br />“I will not interfere in the U.S. election campaign, but what I can do is say what matters for NATO,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.<br />“Solidarity among allies is a key value for NATO.”<br />Trump told The New York Times on Wednesday that the U.S. should only help NATO partners who "fulfill their obligations to us."<br />Article 5 of the NATO treaty states that all 28 members, including the U.S, must aid any member who comes under attack.
